Heather Frede
PE Teacher/Facilitator
Having attended ACA (formerly known as AKCS) for most of her grade school education and graduating from high school online, Heather personally values Christian and Alternative Education. Combining her passions of sport and learning, Heather convocated from the University of Calgary in 2009 with two degrees- one in Kinesiology and the other in Education. Heather spent 13 years teaching in the public system as Physical Education Specialist, an Elementary Generalist, and a Resource Teacher. In addition to these roles, she coached for 10 years with the City of Calgary and Repsol Sport Centre sharing her love for the sports of triathlon and rowing. Over the past two years Heather has been involved in the home education world and has loved every minute of it.

Heather spends most of her free-time outdoors with her husband, James. Together they enjoy hiking, camping, cross-country skiing, cycling, and paddling. She loves to paint, garden, cook, and walk her dog Indy. Heather is excited to share her love of learning, sports, and God with children and watch them grow academically and spiritually.
